Are Our Cargo Bikes Electric or Pedal? Can an Electric Kit be added?
Our Cargobikes can be both Electric with Assisted Pedaling and Muscle Pedaling. It depends on your preferences. Usually, the ones we present in our catalog are without the Pedal Assisted Kit, which is considered an Optional, because not everyone thinks they need it. Therefore the Biccletta or the Tricycle is proposed for muscular pedaling, but is predisposed for the application of a Standard Kit (250W) if it has to circulate on the road. However, for use in private places there is the possibility of mounting much more powerful motors, which however are limited in speed, but the starting power is maintained in order to better overcome any reasonable climbs, or to push with a high load. Are Our Cargo Bikes Approved for Making Street Food?
To make Street Food with a Velocipede you DO NOT need Approvals, also because a velocipede cannot be approved. Municipalities, when they receive a request for a type B mobile licence, often ask (wrongly) for the approval of the vehicle, because they think it is a vehicle (such as a street food van) and do not consider that it is a bicycle. Perhaps out of ignorance of the issue, or to create problems, they make this request. It is fair to clarify that a Street Food Bicycle (velocipede) is a TEMPORARY MOBILE COUNTER and there is a specific regulation which regulates the type B License with which food or other items are sold with a Temporary Mobile Counter. However, it is important that the Street Food Bicycle respects the rules of the Highway Code and that the Workbench on which the food is handled respects the HACCP standards. For example: Washable worktop and sometimes covered in stainless steel Worktop at least 1 meter high from the ground That it is equipped with a Handwashing sink with 2 tanks (drinking water and Dirty recovery water) That there is a Canopy or Awning (in self-extinguishing material) to protect against any dirt falling onto the worktop. That there is an adequate Plexiglas display case as a spit guard In the case of equipment such as fryers or grills that can cause fumes, an extractor hood with activated carbon filters is often required. All our Street Food Bikes comply with these Standards. However, there are no approvals from the local health authorities for mobile temporary benches, but when the activity starts, the local health authority will have a lapse of time to carry out any checks on the bench to verify if it complies with the HACCP standards. If there are any non-conformities, he will give 40 days to make any changes to bring the workbench up to standard, but will not give any fines yet.
